Covid19 Vaccination Communication

The Swadlincote Covid-19 Vaccination Programme commenced this past weekend at Oaklands Village in Swadlincote.

The Gresleydale Healthcare Centre (lead Practice for the Programme) is very proud to announce that, along with all local colleagues (Newhall Surgery, Heartwood Medical Practice, Woodville Surgery, and Swadlincote Surgery), vaccinations have been delivered to our eligible patients in the over-80 Cohort plus Healthcare Workers were not forgotten. Everyone has worked very long hours and pulled together to make this happen within a short period of time.

I would like to thank Heartwood Medical Practice who did an amazing job vaccinating care home residents and staff also this weekend.

The sense of community and team spirit has been humbling and I really appreciate all your dedication.

Feedback has been overwhelming from Patients and every patient who was vaccinated at the weekend was extremely grateful to all of the staff and volunteers involved – a big thank you to the Community Voluntary Services (CVS) for their support. Volunteers on the day were exceptional and the programme cannot run without them. Please continue to volunteer:

On behalf of our combined surgeries, I would like to say a big thank you to the residents, the management team and staff at Oaklands for the use of their site and for the extended amount of assistance that they have given us in getting the site ready as a vaccination centre.

A debt of gratitude is also owed to our experts from Toyota (James Wilson and Steve Oldham) who developed the flow-through of patients. The support received in respect of logistics has allowed us to maximise space and capacity whilst reducing risk kept everyone safe.

The Vaccination Programme will continue as long as supplies of vaccine are delivered. I would like to remind all patients that you will be contacted by your respective surgery when it’s your turn. Please do not ring your surgery to book your vaccination.
