Parent Guide During COVID-19

Covid-19 is unlikely to make your child unwell, but they like everyone else might be infectious so staying at home is important.

However, all the ‘normal’ illnesses that can make children severely unwell still remain and there is a major risk that parents may delay bringing their child to the surgery when unwell, because of concerns about COVID-19.

Gresleydale Healthcare Centre is still providing care for on the day emergencies.

If you are not sure if your child is unwell and whether they need to be seen, visit www.what0-18.nhs.uk/national, call 111 or contact the surgery.

If your child appears severely unwell and advice is not quickly available call 999 or take them to A&E as you would in other times.

When your child is ill or injured it is very difficult to decide if/when to call your child’s GP, NHS 111 or go the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E). During the current situation and while the government is asking everyone to stay at home, it can be confusing to know what to do.
