As the August bank holiday approaches, to help with the increased pressure on both the Medicine Order Line (MOL) service and GP practices, Derbyshire Prescribing Group have approved the MOL SOP to enable patient medication requests to be accepted up to 2 weeks prior to an upcoming bank holiday.
Therefore, with the upcoming bank holiday on 29th August, the MOL will accept medication requests from 12th August. Controlled drugs will continue to be future dated to the date due on the clinical system except if due over a weekend or on the Bank Holiday Monday. These will then be issued for the working day before their due date.
To confirm, the MOL will be closed on the bank holiday 29th August.
