The Clinical Team

Post Graduate Doctors in Training

As a result of being a Training Practice, it is normal for us to have up to 3 specialist Doctors in training at any one time. They are fully qualified doctors training to become GPs.

F2 Doctors

F2’s are Doctors that have completed medical school and they are foundation doctors that are still choosing the area that they want to specialise in. We usually have one on rotation for four months. They are always supervised by a senior member of the clinical team.

Medical Students

There are two kinds of students present at our practice – Year 1 medical students are sometimes attached to the practice for 2-3 weeks as part of their training and may be present in your consultations with the GP. If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation, please inform the healthcare navigator or GP.

Year 3 students will consult with patients independently. This gives them clinical experience that is a necessary part of becoming a GP. The benefits of seeing a year 3 student for your appointment is that you will also see their supervising GP afterwards. This means you will get a longer appointment time (up to 40 minutes) and you will get to see the student and one of our GP partners in the same visit.
